Phase Behavior of Petroleum Reservoir Fluids

Knowledge of the phase behaviour of the various fluids present in a petroleum reservoir is important for correct design and economic operation of a petroleum processing plant. Introducing industry-standard methods for modelling the phase behaviour of petroleum reservoir fluids at various stages in the process, this book presents characterization methods for determining compositional input for state equations and how to apply these equations to simulate pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) properties. The methods are useful from high-temperature/high-pressure conditions down to atmospheric conditions, and the authors deal with flow assurance for gas hydrates, wax, asphaltenes, and scale formation.
